Seagis acquired a 12.23-acre site located in Newark New Jersey in May 2019 which included a 179,975 square foot warehouse that was built in 1959. Newark Liberty International Airport, 3 miles from Port Newark, and 8 miles from New York City via the Holland Tunnel.We viewed this site as one of the best located properties in northern New Jersey. The acquisition included a sale lease back which the tenant terminated in February 2021. Upon the tenant’s vacation of the site, we demolished the existing building and began constructing a new 224,900 square foot single-story warehouse facility in October 2022 and in March 2022, we agreed to terms with United Airlines who have transformed 100 Frontage Road into their primary cargo facility for Newark International Airport. United Airlines spent significant capital to construct a state-of-the-art cargo facility, fueling $450 million in annual revenue and representing 40% of their global tonnage. Their new facility has increased their cargo capacity, established a strong presence in The New York City metro area and provided significant opportunity for the local communities.
